Napoleon said, Champagne in victory, and in defeat too...

My wine table calender had this quote from Napoleon Bonaparte on the March 7 page:

"In victory you deserve Champagne; in defeat, you need it." :-)...

How wonderful is that... 'in defeat you NEED it!' Now, now - don't look for your wallet to dash out to buy a bottle, even if it was Napoleon who recommended this. I'm using this metaphor to draw attention to the fact that when we suffer 'defeat', when in life things don't go well, plans go awry, people let you down, there are slips just as the cup nears your lips, then SLOW DOWN... don't beat yourself up - it's bad enough that you've suffered disappointment and emotional pain. Instead be gentle with yourself, treat yourself well, for if you don't who will? Many of us, at such moments, still turn to another for support, commisersation, sympathy -- we don't realize that it is our OWN company that serves us best in such times. The hurt inner child part of us can be RE-PARENTED ONLY BY US--and this is the sign of TRUE MATURITY. The healing that takes place by our OWN nurturing of ourselves has true and permanent results. A healed inner child stops attracting the same old hurtful stuff it has suffered from, often for years and years.

And if like me, you like Champagne, by all means, have a glass!

Sante, Tchin-Tchin, Saluta, Cheers,

Kiki ;-)
P.S. My request to those who 'borrow' from this blog is to please give adequate credit to the source of the borrowed information - whether me, or books and people I quote from. Thank you.
