My young friend who introduced me to the singer Pascale Picard has just today told me about a song by the singer Fergie called Big Girls Don't Cry. I had heard about Fergie here and there, and today for the first time heard her song. It's all about making difficult choices - a spectre that haunts us all. But there's a lot of strength in some of the lyrics where she says she 'must sit down and straighten up things that are not working for her'. Bravo, I said! But then she ruined it all by saying 'Big Girls Don't Cry'...
Please, please, please don't believe this. Don't buy into it. Specially you men out there - please 'dismiss' and 'reject' what someone said to you from the time you were little: 'Boys Don't Cry'--humbug... this is so NOT healthy. Cry all you want if it'll alleviate the pain in your heart. It's always, always better to cry than to SWALLOW those tears. It is swallowed tears that cause major dysfunction - so much better instead to find another way to release emotional pain and fear, crying being one...
Released inner pain leads to becoming lighter -- and is that not a good thing?
Kiki ;-)
